History Talk: The 'Kinder Letters'

Next Wednesday 21st November at 7:00 pm, Ballyroan Library is delighted to host a talk by Tony O'Herlihy on the 'Kinder Letters'.

The talk details Tony's quest to unravel the story of the ‘dankebuch’ which was sent by German children to thank the Irish people for their donations after the collapse of Nazi Germany. His research captures a glimpse of post-war Europe through the microcosm of this children’s book, and reveals Ireland’s position within Europe at a time of chaos. Tony’s story was made into a documentary by Newstalk which won the New York Radio Awards Grand Award in 2016.

You can book your space at this event here.

We hope to see you there!

Best wishes,
