Toddler Time (Part of: )
Toddler Time at Tallaght Library and will continue every Wednesday until June 2016. Toys and games will be available all morning until 11 am. Songs and rhymes at 10.30 am. All welcome.

Group meets every Wednesday at 6.30 p.m.. Bring along whatever project you are working on: sewing, knitting, quilting, papercraft etc. or just drop in to swap skills and ideas over tea/coffee. No booking necessary.

IE Network (Part of: )
Every Thursday morning in The County Library Tallaght, The IE Network will be holding seminars/talks on all aspects of job-seeking and self-employment. Topics may include self-improvement, motivation, setting up your own business, accounts, business planning etc. We can guarantee that there will be a topic or talk that will have you thinking and you will enjoy it. These events start at 10:00 and finish at 12:30. There is also a great opportunity for networking. This is an opportunity to meet likeminded people who will inspire you and get you in the motivated to believe that you can do it. The IE Network events on Thursdays are open to the public so spread the word.

A 10 week programme on Thursdays from 10 am to 11 am. Starts 14th January. The purpose of this programme is to help participants discover their own inner resources: innate tools for living such as inner strength, choice and hope, and the possibilty of personal peace. Our historical exhibition for this year concentrates on the role played in the 1916 Easter Rising by people and locations in South Dublin. A large selection of artifacts and memorabilia will be on display, including original documents, medals and weapons. This exhibition will be on display from 15th February until 20th June during normal library opening hours. All welcome.

About the County Library

The County Library, Tallaght, which reopened in April 2008 following a major refurbishment programme, is in the heart of the cultural quarter of the Tallaght Town Centre, which includes the Civic Theatre, the Big Picture and Rua Red Art Centre. The Library is located adjacent to the Square Shopping Centre and at the terminus of the Luas Red Line. 

In keeping with our service commitment to promote accessibility for all citizens, access to the building is facilitated by automatic doors and movement within the building is facilitated by a lift and a ramp.  The library provides a wide range of stock in a variety of formats including large print books, talking books on CD and online access to our download zone. The library counters and the conference room have a loop hearing system and a number of computers are provided with assistive technologies. Both counters have low-level sections. An accessible toilet is available. Some tactile signage is provided on both the ground floor and on the upper floor. The library operates a Home Delivery Service for people who are unable to visit the library. The County Library is a light filled, spacious and customer-orientated building which provides a large and up-to-date book stock, free state of the art computer faculties, self service terminals, printing and photocopying systems, a digital training and a conference suite, a teen zone, a children’s library and a local studies area, a download zone where customers can download audio books directly to their  mp3 player or iPod from our award winning on-line service and assistive technologies for people who have visual or reading difficulties. The County Library delivers open and welcoming access to leisure, information and educational opportunities

The library can be reached by bus or by the LUAS. 

  • The LUAS red line terminus (Direction: Tallaght) is located on Blessington Road between the Square Shopping Centre and the rear of the County Library. For routes, timetables and fares information see luas.ie
