Basic Computer Class (Part of: )
Our computer class for complete beginners starts Wednesday 3rd May at 10 am. It will take place every Wednesday for 5 weeks. Each class lasts 2 hours. Booking is essential as places are limited. You can book from Tuesday 18th April. Book in person or telephone 01 4620073.

Toddler Time (Part of: )
Toddler time takes place every Wednesday morning at the library. It starts at 10.30 am. On the first Wednesday of the month we have Musical Toddler Time which starts at 10.15 am. All welcome.

iPad and tablet classes for adults will start on Wednesday 3rd May at 12 noon. Each class lasts 2 hours and the classes take place every Wednesday for 5 weeks. To take place you will need to bring your own iPad or tablet and you will also need to bring your library card as you will have to log on to our WiFi with your card number and PIN. Booking is essential as places are limited. You can book from Tuesday 18th April. Book in person or telephone 01 4620073.

Group meets every Wednesday at 6.30 p.m. Bring along whatever project you are working on: sewing, knitting, quilting, papercraft etc. or just drop in to swap skills and ideas over tea/coffee. No booking necessary.

How well do you know the classics? Can you tell your "Pride and Prejudice" from your "Crime and Punishment"? What can a budding writer learn from the great writers? And was Mark Twain right when he defined a classic as "something that everybody wants to have read but nobody wants to read. There are five sessions, one on the last Monday of every month until June. About the County Library

The County Library, Tallaght, which reopened in April 2008 following a major refurbishment programme, is in the heart of the cultural quarter of the Tallaght Town Centre, which includes the Civic Theatre, the Big Picture and Rua Red Art Centre. The Library is located adjacent to the Square Shopping Centre and at the terminus of the Luas Red Line. 

In keeping with our service commitment to promote accessibility for all citizens, access to the building is facilitated by automatic doors and movement within the building is facilitated by a lift and a ramp.  The library provides a wide range of stock in a variety of formats including large print books, talking books on CD and online access to our download zone. The library counters and the conference room have a loop hearing system and a number of computers are provided with assistive technologies. Both counters have low-level sections. An accessible toilet is available. Some tactile signage is provided on both the ground floor and on the upper floor. The library operates a Home Delivery Service for people who are unable to visit the library. The County Library is a light filled, spacious and customer-orientated building which provides a large and up-to-date book stock, free state of the art computer faculties, self service terminals, printing and photocopying systems, a digital training and a conference suite, a teen zone, a children’s library and a local studies area, a download zone where customers can download audio books directly to their  mp3 player or iPod from our award winning on-line service and assistive technologies for people who have visual or reading difficulties. The County Library delivers open and welcoming access to leisure, information and educational opportunities

The library can be reached by bus or by the LUAS. 

  • The LUAS red line terminus (Direction: Tallaght) is located on Blessington Road between the Square Shopping Centre and the rear of the County Library. For routes, timetables and fares information see luas.ie
