Red Line Book Festival: From Page to Stage (Part of: Red Line Book Festival)
Producer and performer Andrea Scott and writer Gill McCaw adapted Hanna Greally's disturbing 1970s autobiography "Bird's Nest Soup" into "Lunatic: There I Go", a script for a theatre presentation. Andrea and Gill will read extracts from this script and discuss the adaptation process, bringing you on their journey from novel to stage. Tuesday 13th October at 11 am. Every Thursday morning in The County Library Tallaght, The IE Network will be holding seminars/talks on all aspects of job-seeking and self-employment. Topics may include self-improvement, motivation, setting up your own business, accounts, business planning etc. We can guarantee that there will be a topic or talk that will have you thinking and you will enjoy it. These events start at 10:00 and finish at 12:30. There is also a great opportunity for networking. This is an opportunity to meet likeminded people who will inspire you and get you in the motivated to believe that you can do it. Red Line Book Festival: The Real World: Poetry Workshop (Part of: Red Line Book Festival)
This experiential poetry workshop inspired by the local environment will be hosted by poet and writer Grace Wells. Participants will visit the current exhibition at Rua Red Arts Centre and visit a number of local venues and stimulants, using the real world as a prompt for new writing. About the County Library
The County Library, Tallaght, which reopened in April 2008 following a major refurbishment programme, is in the heart of the cultural quarter of the Tallaght Town Centre, which includes the Civic Theatre, the Big Picture and Rua Red Art Centre. The Library is located adjacent to the Square Shopping Centre and at the terminus of the Luas Red Line.
In keeping with our service commitment to promote accessibility for all citizens, access to the building is facilitated by automatic doors and movement within the building is facilitated by a lift and a ramp. The library provides a wide range of stock in a variety of formats including large print books, talking books on CD and online access to our download zone. The library counters and the conference room have a loop hearing system and a number of computers are provided with assistive technologies. Both counters have low-level sections. An accessible toilet is available. Some tactile signage is provided on both the ground floor and on the upper floor. The library operates a Home Delivery Service for people who are unable to visit the library. The County Library is a light filled, spacious and customer-orientated building which provides a large and up-to-date book stock, free state of the art computer faculties, self service terminals, printing and photocopying systems, a digital training and a conference suite, a teen zone, a children’s library and a local studies area, a download zone where customers can download audio books directly to their mp3 player or iPod from our award winning on-line service and assistive technologies for people who have visual or reading difficulties. The County Library delivers open and welcoming access to leisure, information and educational opportunities

The library can be reached by bus or by the LUAS.
- The LUAS red line terminus (Direction: Tallaght) is located on Blessington Road between the Square Shopping Centre and the rear of the County Library. For routes, timetables and fares information see luas.ie
