Declan Burke is an author, editor and journalist who writes and broadcasts on books and film for a variety of media outlets, including the Irish Times, RTE and the Irish Examiner.

Marvellous Mars with Deirdre Kelleghan (Part of: Science Week)

Suitable for 4th - 6th class.   A workshop showcasing some of the most beautiful robot explorer images of Mars. Children will be challenged to draw and examine the surface of the red planet in highly textured detail. Learn about Mars, become familiar with and enjoy the planet, and compare Mars with our own Earth. We will also look at present and near future missions to Mars by NASA and the European Space Agency.

Map and Directions

The library can be reached using the 25a bus from Woodquay to Superquinn, Newcastle Rd. The 25x from Belfield stops there too.  For routes, timetables and fares information, see the Dublin Bus website.

Lucan Library is a full-time library in the Superquinn Shopping Centre in Lucan. It is situated to the extreme left of the centre, near the Dunnes Stores entrance.

The library was opened to the public in November 2000. It is a bright modern building on the first floor of the Superquinn Shopping Centre and is accessible by lift. It has a large children\'s area and a seminar room which can be booked by local community groups.
