Whitechurch

Whitechurch Library is a part-time former Carnegie Library on Taylors Lane in Rathfarnham. It was opened in 1911 and has been in use since then.  Still in its original condition, the library is open 16 hours a week, providing lending facilities for adults and children.  The WEB Project (contact: 01-4957171 or info@webproject.ie), a local community development project which co-ordinates community activities for the Ballydoden area, provides adult education classes, morning afternoon evening in Whitechurch Library.  The library also facilitates HSE and MABS activities.

In keeping with the our service commitment to promote access to our services for all customers, the library desk has a loop hearing system and assistive technologies are available to computer users. Access to the building is facilitated by a ramp and automatic doors. The library has an accessible toilet. Some tactile signage is provided. The library provides a wide range of stock in a variety of formats including large print books, talking books on CD and online access to our download zone.

Opening Hours

The library closes annually for the month of August.

  • Mon: 2-5pm and 6-8pm (from September 6th, 2010)
  • Tues: 2-5pm and 6-8pm   
  • Wed: 10am-1pm and 2- 5 pm
  • Thurs: 2-5pm and 6 - 8pm
  • Fri: Closed
