Shakespeare 400 Events

To celebrate 400 years of Shakespeare we are holding the: "I Can't Believe It's Shakespeare" Film Festival.

Perhaps you find Shakespeare's plays a bit on the heavy side. Why not try a movie inspired by the Bard's work?

Our festival takes place on 4 Thursdays starting at 7 pm. One film will be shown each Thursday:

3rd November: "10 Things I Hate About You" inspired by The Taming of the Shrew and starrting Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles

10th November: "A Thousand Acres" inspired by King Lear and starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Jessica Lange

17th November: "Kiss Me Kate" inspired by The Taming of the Shrew and starring Howard Keel and Kathryn Grayson

24th November: "Forbidden Planet" inspired by The Tempest and starring Walter Pidgeon and Anne Francis

All welcome. No need to book.

We are not forgetting our younger library members. For them we have Shakespeare Arts and Crafts on Wednesday 16th November at 3.30 pm. This is suitable for 5-8 year olds. Booking is essential as places are limited. Book in person or telephone 01 4620073.
