Leabharlann LeamhcháinIs leabharlann lánaimseartha atá i Leabharlann Leamhcáin in Ionad Siopadóireachta Superquinn. Tá sí suite ar fhíorchlé an ionaid, in aice le hoscailt Dunnes Stores.

Osclaíodh an leabharlann don phobal i mí na Samhna 2000. Is foirgneamh nua-aimseartha geal atá ann ar an gcéad urlár d’Ionad Siopadóireachta Superquinn agus tá sé inrochtana le hardaitheoir. Tá rannóg mór leanaí agus seomra seimineáir ann ar féidir le grúpaí pobail áitiúla cur in áirithe.

De réir ár dtiomantas seirbhíse, rochtain d’ár seirbhísí a chothú d’ár gcustaiméirí uilig, tá an bealach isteach don leabharlann éascaithe le doirse uathoibríoch agus bealaigh tríd an leabharlann éascaithe le hardaitheoir. Tá spásanna páirceála inrochtana ar fáil gar don leabharlann. Tá réimse fairsing ábhar i bhfoirmeacha éagsúla ar fáil sa leabharlann, in a measc leabhair i gcló mór, closleabhair ar CD agus rochtain ar líne d’ár láthair íoslódála. Tá closchóras lúb ionduchtúcháin ag an gcuntar agus tá ríomhaire ar fáil le teicneolaíochtaí cúnta. Ta Formhéadaitheoir Cló CCTV ar fáil a mhéadaíonn ábhar clóite do dhaoine le lagú amhairc. Tá cuid íseal ag an gcuntar. Tá leithreas poiblí inrochtana ann chomh maith. Tá roinnt comharthaíocht tadhaill treorach ar fáil. Chomh maith le rochtain a chur ar fáil ar ábhar i réimse leathan formáidí, is í an leabharlann pointe fócasach an phobail, reáchtálann sí taispeántais, ranganna teanga, ranganna ríomhaireachta, grúpaí léitheoireachta, grúpaí tuismitheora agus lapadáin agus roinnt mhaith gníomhaíochtaí eile do dhaoine fásta agus leanaí.

Strong Irish roots!” says Mr Leary the postman. It’s also Bathnight on Henrietta Street - that’s a technological breakthrough in and of itself! The iron bath is out and the water has been heating on the stove all day! Errol is 8 years of age! If there’s one thing Errol hates, it’s baths. He’s taking a rocket and he’s leaving town!!!

This developed into a love of art  and particularly illustrations in children’s books. Tatyana now lives in Trim. She has illustrated several Panda books with The O’Brien Press and is also the author and illustrator of Small Bunny’s Blue Blanket, Little Owl’s Orange Scarf, Little Frog’s Tadpole Trouble, Small Elephant’s Bathtime and Socks for Mr. Wolf.   Suitable for Junior or Senior Infants.

Booking from Monday 17th September, 9.45 am. Contact the library.   Sheena Wilkinson has won many awards for her fiction including five Children’s Books Ireland Awards, most recently the Honour Award for Fiction for 2017’s Star By Star, which was also shortlisted for the Irish Book Awards. Described in The Irish Times as ‘one of our foremost writers for young people’, Sheena received a Major Award from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland in 2013. She teaches creative writing in settings ranging from universities to prisons and runs a young writers’ group in Belfast. Sheena lives in County Down.   Suitable for 3rd - 6th class and Junior Cycle Students.

Into the Eye of the Story with Sinéad O’Hart (Part of: Children’s Book Festival)

It tells the story of a friendless girl and a nameless boy who must work together to defeat a terrible creature at the heart of a glacier. Sinéad was born and raised in the sunny South-East, but now lives with her family in Meath. She prefers to spend her every free second with her head in a story. Suitable for 3rd – 6th class.
