Summer Activities: Liz Weir, Storyteller
Liz Weir is a master storyteller. She has told her stories to people of all ages on five continents. She has performed in venues ranging from libraries, to hospitals to the Royal Albert Hall. Suitable for ages 3+ with parent or guardian. There will be 3 sessions on Thursday 14th July at 12 noon, 2 pm and 3.30 pm. Children's Activities: Family Tree Workshop
Learn how to explore your family history and create your own unique family crest. If you have photographs of your relatives and ancestros, please bring them along. Tuesday 12th July at 2.30 pm. Children's Activitites: Star Wars Marathon
We are showing the first 6 Star Wars films over 2 days in the order of events in the Star Wars universe: Monday July 11th: Phantom Meace at 10.30 am, Attack of the Clones at 1 pm, Revenge of the Sith at 3.30 pm; Tuesday July 12th: A New Hope at 10.30 am, The Empire Strikes Back at 1.30 pm and Return of the Jedi at 4.30 pm. Suitable for children aged 10 and older; children under 10 need to be with a parent or guardian. Join in the fun of our new TechSpace in Tallaght Library. Open to children aged 8+ and inspiring young people to become digital creators through access to hardware, software, trained educators and creative mentors. No current TechSpace members should apply. These are taster sessions for new members in September. 3 sessions on Tuesday 12th July, Thursday 14th July and Tuesday 19th July, all at 11 am. Summer Activities: Mad Professor
Learn how to make slime and goo. Watch a volcano erupt, bottles explode, small plastic boxes fly skyward and coke spray 20 feet into the sky and lots of other stuff on the day. 3 sessions on Thursday 7th July at 11 am (suitable for ages 8-12) , 2 pm and 3.30 pm (last two sessions are suitable for ages 4-7) . Children's Summer Activities: Lego Workshops
Work as a group and create a story. Build it with Lego and then by using a web cam and computer software, you can transform your creation into a comic book. Suitable for ages 8+. Parents are welcome to help out. 3 separate sessions: Monday 4th, Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th July at 2.30 pm.
