South Dublin Images
A database of images searchable by location and keyword is online at Source.
A collection of images has been developed from a range of sources which are
arranged in collection order. The main collections are:
- Images from the slide collection of Patrick Healy, historian and archaeologist.
- National Library of Ireland photographs of South Dublin County from the Cardall, Eason, Johnson, Lawrence, Morgan, Lawrence New Series, Valentine and Wiltshire collections
- Images from the Tallaght Historical Society's collection of slides and photographs
- Images from the postcard collections of Joe Williams local historian and of David Cotter local historian and conservationist.
- Prints and Photographs from books of local studies interest
- Images from the Tallaght Film Strips which accompanied the book Tallaght a Resource Book for Teachers
- Photographs by local photographers Michael Lavelle and Brian MacCormaic
- Tallaght 2000 photographs by Lorraine Hennessy for Comtec Media Project
- Topographical prints of the South Dublin area (Beranger, Grose, Petrie, etc) from the Neptune Gallery Collection
- Prints of the South Dublin area from the National Library of Ireland collection of prints and drawings
- Irish Historical Picture Company images
We are delighted to accept donations of photographs or prints for the collection.
