Toys, Training and Technology

October 19, 2018

The County Library, Tallaght is delighted to introduce a pilot project aimed at providing support and additional learning aids
to junior patrons, their parents, carers or guardians and other interested parties who may have learning difficulties or other additional needs.

Simply called Toys, Technology, Training or TTT, the project has three main elements. Firstly the Toys element consists of a number of toys/aids that may help with learning or improving skills such as gross-motor skills.

In the second part of the project; Technology we will be supplementing our existing provision of TTRS (Touch, Type, Read, Spell) software, with lectures and workshops that focus on the use of app technology in providing support to those with additional needs.

Thirdly we will be facilitating a series of talks (Training) aimed at providing information and training to carers, professionals and patrons with additional needs.

In addition to these resources we have curated a small collection of specialised book stock which may provide further information and educational opportunities.

With the exception of talks and workshops which are open to all members of the public, and bookable on www.talib.eventbrite.ie,
the borrowing of toys and book stock is strictly limited to residents of South County Dublin who have a referral letter of some kind e.g. from a doctor or occupational therapist.
Eligible patrons will be issued with a TTT library card which allows for the borrowing of two items subject to the library’s normal lending rules.
