Zinio/RBdigital is a magazine shelf for iPad, iPhone, Android and Windows 8 devices.
Readers can store and read full magazines offline and sync magazine libraries across multiple devices.
You can also use laptops and PCs. It’s easy to use and all you need is your library card (beginning with a D4) and PIN.
There are two logins require – one to sign up to Zinio from South Dublin Libraries
and the other to create your own personal magazine collection from the titles on offer.
Account #1
Click on Create Account - you will need your D4 South Dublin Libraries’ card and an email.
You will be asked to authenticate your email to login. This allows access to the library titles.
Account #2
This account allows you to create your own personal magazine collection
from the titles on offer and to activate the mobile app (called Zinio).
It is probably advisable to have the same email for both accounts.
This account is called “my library”
Once you click on a magazine it opens and you can turn pages by touching
or clicking on the edge of the page. Hyperactive links will take you to other pages or links.
If a title requires Reader 4, this software can be freely downloaded.
It allows the titles to be downloaded and read offline. You only need to download the software once.

BorrowBox is the new ebooks and eaudio service from Bolinda.

Language Learning Online
South Dublin are delighted to introduce you to a new online language learning service - Mango Languages
This service is being provided as part of a Libraries Ireland initiative and you can access the service and start learning now
Using Mango to learn or improve your knowledge and use of foreign language gives you access to over 80 languages.
To sign up and start to learn, you will need to click "create a profile" and you will need you library card number as part of the registration process.

Mental Health Ireland
Mental Health Ireland is a national voluntary organisation with 104 local Mental Health Associations
(MHAs) and branches throughout the country. The membership includes mental health professionals
and lay people who provide care, support and friendship for the mentally ill.
MHI aims to promote positive mental health and to actively support persons
with a mental illness, their families and carers by identifying their needs,
providing information and advocating their rights
Environmental Resources
Enfopoint 
South Dublin County Libraries is one of four libraries authorities selected
to participate in a nationwide pilot project to promote and provide
environmental information through the public library network.
The ENFO website is available on a dedicated touch screen PC in the County Library, Tallaght and will include national and locally relevant environmental information, issues and events.
The local content of the site, which will be built and added to over the coming year,
will enhance the provision of information and plans of a developmental and environmental nature.
The website is www.enfo.ie and is hosted and administered by An Chomhairle Leabharlanna,
the statutory and advisory body charged with responsibility for the provision of assistance
and advice to public libraries and with advising and making recommendations to the Minister on issues relating to public libraries.

The Online Library Edition includes the complete encyclopaedia with more than 72,000 searchable articles and related websites selected by Encyclopaedia Britannica Editors. The database is updated constantly by Encyclopaedia Britannica staff. This resource requires your library card number to gain access.

Vision Net is a website that provides company information for Ireland and the United Kingdom. Vision-net is available remotely via our website.
You will need a library card that begins with D4 and a PIN. Access to this resource is part of South Dublin's ongoing commitment to local businesses and enterprises.
Music PAL
Is music your business? Are you a composer, student or researcher?
Music PAL is a scheme to facilitate access to music information and materials throughout Ireland.
The Music PAL Access Card can open doors to a wealth of music resources in some of the best music libraries anywhere in Ireland.

Through the LGMA, South Dublin are now able to offer access to ProQuest.
With its Current News and Historical Newspapers, ProQuest offers a single interface, for accessing newspapers from around the world.
It has a powerful search engine, harvesting information from more than 3,000 of the world’s news sources, such as The New York Times,

Ordnance Survey Ireland Historic Maps Library Viewer
Historical Ordnance Survey maps are now available for online viewing in public libraries only. The images are high-quality and may be printed. The Irish Newspaper Archives is the world's largest online database of Irish Newspapers, Search, retrieve and view Ireland's past exactly as it was originally published. This resource can be accessed in all our branches via the public access PCs. .
Irish Times Digital Archive
The Irish Times Digital Archive features exact reproductions of all articles published by the Irish Times from 1859 onwards. This resource can be accessed on our in-branch library pc’s.

JSTOR Ireland Collection
This collection includes access to around 90 journals and periodicals including many of those familiar to local historians: Dublin Historical Record, Proceedings of the Royal Irish Academy, Archaeology Ireland, Collectanea Hibernica, History Ireland, Irish Historical , Studies, Journal of Irish Archaeology, Journal of the Galway Archaeological and Historical Society, Nordic Irish Studies, Studia Hibernica, etc. The collection can be accessed from any of the public access pcs at the County Library via www.jstor.org.
