How do I reserve an item which is in stock in South Dublin Libraries?
You can reserve items in two ways. You can fill in a reservation form at one of our branch libraries for items that are on loan or are not in stock at South Dublin County Libraries. Alternatively, library members who find an item on our web catalogue can click the reserve button on the item and will receive a notice when it is available. There is a charge of 50c for reserving an item within the South Dublin libraries' network and also within the new library consortium.
However a €5 charge for reserving items outside of South Dublin may be levied at some stage in the future.
What if the item I want is not available in South Dublin Libraries?
You can reserve items that are on loan to other customers and you will be notified when they are available. If an item is not in stock at South Dublin County Libraries, you can search and reserve via other public library catalogues through BorrowBooks. If the item is available it will be delivered to a South Dublin Library of your choice. If an item is not in stock in South Dublin Libraries or in another public library, you can suggest it for purchase or we can to try to locate a copy for you elsewhere.
