CoderDojo Clondalkin Library: Call for Mentors

Call for Mentors!!!!

CoderDojo (www.coderdojo.com) is a volunteer-led movement of free computer programming clubs for young people aged 7+. Clondalkin library is planning to set up a Dojo (coding session) on Saturday afternoons in 2018. We are looking for mentors to guide the young people through the basics and help them create their own projects. Mentors are unpaid volunteers (over 18 years of age) who have some coding experience. Most of our Ninjas (young participants) will have little coding experience and will be using the child-friendly programming language Scratch. (To see how Scratch works go to https://scratch.mit.edu). Two or three mentors would be needed for each session. We don’t expect you to be available every Saturday so we need a panel of as many people as possible. Mentors are vitally important as the Dojo cannot proceed without sufficient mentors. Would you be interested in being a mentor at our Dojo? Do you know someone who would be interested? If so please contact us at coderdojoclondalkinlibrary@gmail.com.

Please note that all mentors will have to be Garda vetted before starting. The library staff will guide you through the process.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
