Clondalkin
Clondalkin Library is an Arts and Crafts style Carnegie building located on Monastery Road, complete with its own Tower and (reputed) ghost! It was built in 1911, refurbished in 1972 and opened as a full-time library in December 1972. The library is on two floors, with the adult library on the ground floor and a children's section upstairs. A Noah's Ark sculpture, created by the children of South Dublin for the Mosaic Quake project in 1998 is on permanent display. Regular storytimes, arts and craft activities, and the junior bookclub are held in the junior library.
In keeping with the our service commitment to promote access to our services for all customers, the library counter has a loop hearing system and assistive technologies are available for computer users. Access to the building is facilitated by a ramp and automatic doors. There is no access to the junior library for wheelchair users or for those with mobility problems as the building does not have a lift. Some tactile signage is provided. The library operates a home delivery service for people who are unable to visit the library. Please select the following link for more information on Access Features of Clondalkin Library.
