Hallowe'en Story Time

Due to the huge interest in our coding camps next week, we are delighted to announce we can accommodate 10, 11, and 12-year-olds at Camp Ignite. Please click here or follow the link below to reserve your place.

 

Break the Code

Tuesday 30th October - Friday 2nd November

 

Camp Spark

10.00am - 1.00pm (Friday, 10.00am - 12.00pm)

This 4-day camp is designed to give children an introduction to and an understanding of the world of code and computational thinking.  The camp members will attend for four consecutive days. The camps will be facilitated by the Academy of Code.

Suitable for 8 - 12 year-olds.

Camp Ignite

2.00pm - 5.00pm (Friday, 2.00pm - 4.00pm)

This 4-day camp is designed to give teens an introduction to and an understanding of the world of code and computational thinking.  The camp members will attend for four consecutive days. The camps will be facilitated by the Academy of Code.

Suitable for 10 - 16 year-olds.

Big Bear Planetarium

Friday 9th November, 3.00pm - 4.00pm

Suitable for all ages. 

An exciting exploration of the universe presented by Carl O’Beirne, one of Ireland’s leading astronomers and astrophotographers.

All welcome.

(This event is open to everyone, and is in addition to the class visits earlier the same day).

Movie-Making with Create School

Wednesday 14th November, 10.00am - 2.00pm

Class visit only. Suitable for 6th class only.

In Movie Maker workshops, students collaborate to script, rehearse, shoot and edit their ideas to create a finished film. Working closely in groups with experienced tutors, participants learn skills and techniques that they can continue to develop after the workshop in order to make films with their own mobile technology.

Marvellous Mars with Deirdre Kelleghan

Wednesday 21st November, 11.30am - 12.30pm

Class visit only. Suitable for 4th - 6th class.

A workshop showcasing some of the most beautiful robot explorer images of Mars. Children will be challenged to draw and examine the surface of the red planet in highly textured detail. Learn about Mars, become familiar with and enjoy the planet, and compare Mars with our own Earth. We will also look at present and near future missions to Mars by NASA and the European Space Agency.

Healthy Ireland:


Active Storytime

Tuesday 13th November, 10.00am - 11.00am

"We're Going on a Bear Hunt". Children will read the story, learn the actions, and then perform! Followed by a simple obstacle course with sensory and exercise elements.

Class visit only. Suitable for Junior Infants or Senior Infants.
