Early Starters Music Classes with Music Generation South Dublin

Starts Saturday 12th January

Six-week course (continues on 19th, & 26th January, and 2nd, 9th, & 16th February)

Session 1: Babies (0 - 2 year-olds): 2.00pm - 2.30pm

Session 2: Children (2 - 4 year-olds): 3.00pm - 3.30pm

A fun-filled song, movement and percussive musical experience through play. Six weekly interactive sessions give parents the chance to actively participate in preparing their babies and toddlers for the later development of accurate rhythmic skills, pitch skills and sensitivity to the expressive qualities of music through the medium of play!

Four-week course (continues on 14th, 21st, & 28th January). Beginner's level. Ukuleles will be supplied, but you can bring your own too!

Past Press Exhibition

From 14th January to 9th February

Presented by the National Library of Ireland. The Past from the Press explores issues such as news values, bias, subjectivity and propaganda and encourages students to ‘read between the lines’ of historic and contemporary newspapers.

Although the exhibition has broad appeal, it is of particular interest to students of History and English at both primary and secondary level and has been specially written with them in mind.

Blue Monday is (apparently!) the most depressing day on the year!! Nutritionist, Anna Ryan, will help you stick to your healthy New Year’s resolutions and have a healthy 2019.

Suitable for adults, but if a parent wanted to bring an older child that they thought might benefit that is great!!

Darren Tully of the Society for Old Lucan will lead a 90-minute local history and heritage tour.

Meeting point is King John's bridge outside village, to walk from St Finian's onto Gandon Lodge, then Moat Lodge up the hill and finishing at Lucan Library at approximately 11.30am where refreshments will be served as well as an introduction to our Local Studies area.
